Quality assurance

A 5-step quality promise.

Every oak porch kit goes through a fully documented, auditable quality control process — from log to delivery.

  1. 1

    Timber delivery check

All timbers are checked against a cutting list to confirm size and quantity, with an initial visual quality inspection.

  2. 2

    Structural grading

Each beam is individually checked for structural suitability and visual impact by our in-house timber graders.

  3. 3

    Production check

As each timber moves through production it is visually checked again to confirm suitability.

  4. 4

    Machine calibration

Every job begins with a comprehensive calibration test on our Hundegger CNC, monitored every 30 minutes during production.

  5. 5

    Pre-dispatch

Once manufactured and packed, the kit is cross-checked against your cutting list to ensure every component is present.

Why our kits are a cut above

Our timbers

We use Quercus Robur and Petraea oak — sustainably farmed, longer and straighter, and consistently the best quality for manufacturing.

Timber graders

Every piece is checked by a certified grader who re-trains yearly. Any timber showing weakness is rejected.

Precision engineering

Manufactured on a state-of-the-art Hundegger CNC, calibrated before every job and re-checked throughout.

Pre-dispatch checks

Each piece is visually inspected and cross-referenced with your file and cutting list before packing.

The finished kit

All kits arrive with clear instructions, pre-drilled fixings, pre-cut birdmouth rafters and coded components for easy assembly.

Aftercare

Natural tannin marks on green oak fade with time. If you'd like to remove them sooner we recommend Rubio Monocoat Tannin Remover.
